1. Navigate to Admin|Alarms on the WQData LIVE project page.

    Access WQData LIVE Project Alarm Menu

     

  2.  Select Add Alarm under the Alarms heading.

  3. Complete each section of the configuration menu that appears.
    1. Assign an alarm name, provide a description, enable/disable the Multi-Trigger option (repeated email/SMS alerts for each new data point meeting the alarm conditions), and enable/disable the alarm

    2. Select the data logger and parameter(s) of interest and specify the trigger condition (multiple if desired through an any/all convention).

      Assign Alarm Trigger Conditions.

       

      1. Set the alarm count- the number of consecutive readings that must meet the trigger conditions to activate the alarm.

        All readings reported in this time interval must meet the alarm conditions for it to trigger.

        1. If battery readings for the example system above were collected every 10 minutes, the specified count set  would require 6 consecutive readings to report a voltage of 12V or lower for the alarm to trigger.
        2. If a single reading should trigger an alarm, then set this field equal to the data collection interval for that parameter.
    3. Configure a Trigger Action [Optional] to send emails or text messages to project personelle. Groups can be created to easily assign (and modify) contact lists to multiple alarms with a few clicks.

    4. Confirm Alarm Reset Conditions.
      1. The reset conditions will automatically populate based on the selected trigger conditions. Small changes to the reset may be required, particularly the number of reading counts required to dismiss an alarm.

        Adjust automatically populated reset conditions as needed.

         

    5. Configure Alarm Reset Actions [Optional]

      If enabled, emails/text messages will be sent when an alarm condition is resolved.

       

  4. Click SAVE in the lower right corner of the menu to activate the alarm. It will now be visible from the Alarm Dashboard on the project page, where edits to the above sections can be made as needed.
