SonTek Argonaut-MD 1.5 MHz Real-Time System

The Argonaut-MD is designed to precisely measure current using Doppler technology on long term mooring deployments of up to 2 years.
  • Internal memory for autonomous operation
  • Temperature sensor for sound and speed compensation
  • Compass sensor
Capable of measuring water motion at a "single point" almost anywhere in the oceans, this 3-D, vector-averaging current meter is small, light, and inexpensive. The MD?s low-power electronics and high-capacity alkaline battery pack are perfect for long-term mooring deployments. Its high-sensitivity transducers improve performance in environments that have exceptionally low scattering conditions. With standard temperature and optional pressure and conductivity sensors, the MD is a full-featured system. Ideal for filling holes in profiles that ADP/ADCPs miss.
