The OTT PS1 is an easy-to-use and easy-to-maintain pressure and level probe. It is completely self-contained and features a durable and corrosion resistant stainless steel body. Its small diameter allows the unit to fit into 1" monitoring wells. Inside the versatile probe, there is a piezo-resistive pressure sensor linked to a microprocessor that handles a wide variety of tasks involving signal processing and calculation.
Both water level and water temperature can be output via SDI-12 serial or 4-20 mA analog interface. The internal firmware corrects for the influence of the temperature on the measuring cell, the effect of gravity, and even takes into account changes in the density of the water. An accuracy of better than 0.05% is achieved, which results in +/- 0.01' over the first 10' of depth.
The OTT PS1 proves that highly accurate technology can also be remarkably robust. The PS1 can be powered by any 8.5-30 VDC supply and the low power SDI-12 mode uses less than 4 mA of current when active and less than 500 pA in sleep mode. The probe will withstand a pressure that is ten times the measuring range without causing lasting mechanical damage. |
