Building a Cellular SystemCellular telemetry provides a large degree of flexibility as to where your environmental monitoring stations can be located. For applications where landline phone and radio telemetry is not feasible, cellular data telemetry systems provide a cost-effective remote access solution.
A NexSens cellular telemetry system consists of a 3100-iSIC, which includes an iSIC Data Logger with an integrated cellular modem. Cellular data accounts can be setup with all major providers including Verizon, AT&T, and Sprint/Nextel. The 3100-iSIC data logger connects to the Internet via the cellular provider's network (similar to a cell phone). A computer running iChart software interrogates the remote system(s) by connecting to the Internet and accessing the remote system data.
